Conor McGregor has taken to Twitter to state that he’s interested in buying Manchester United.
His comments come in response to growing reports that Ed Woodward is set to step down from his role as Executive Vice Chairman.
United were one of 12 clubs to agree to the breakaway European Super League, though developments this evening have cast major doubt over the competition.
Following the news that Chelsea and Manchester City are close to withdrawing from the ESL, a snowball effect has played out with both United and Barcelona both reportedly set to do the same.
There are even reports that the news could lead to the Glazers potentially looking to sell the club, sparking excitement among fans who have been largely critical of their ownership.
Those rumours also led to McGregor teasing the idea of getting involved at Old Trafford.

What do you think?
“Hey guys, I’m thinking about buying Manchester United! What do you think?” The UFC star wrote on Twitter.
Obviously his comments are very much tongue-in-cheek, but after the last 24 hours, who even knows what’s going on anymore?
We need a lie down.
