Cristiano Ronaldo’s sister fires back at Florentino Perez after brutal comment

The sister of Cristiano Ronaldo leapt to the defence of the Manchester United star following Florentino Perez’s surprising comments about him.

On Thursday, a video circulated on social media of Florentino Perez interacting with Real Madrid fans. One supporter asked the club present if Los Blancos would sign Ronaldo. Surprisingly, Perez gave a short and conclusive answer to the request.

“Sign Ronaldo?” he questioned, per Manchester Evening News. “Again? He’s 38 years old.”

As a result, you can all but confirm that Ronaldo will not be returning to the Bernabeu. Unfortunately, the Portuguese striker seems to be lacking options, too.

This summer has been full of speculation after the Portugal captain told Man United that he wanted to leave the club for a Champions League side. Chelsea initially showed interest, however, they decided against making a move for Ronaldo.

Similarly, Bayern Munich and Atletico Madrid both ruled out a potential deal after holding talks with Ronaldo’s agent. This then led to some Real fans thinking of a wonderful homecoming for their all-time leading scorer.

Florentino Perez’s latest comments have likely put those rumours to bed, though. He said that Los Blancos are unlikely to make another signing this window, per Fabrizio Romano.

And his Ronaldo remarks did not go down well with the Portuguese star’s family, as the sister of Cristiano Ronaldo fired back at the Real President.

Perez’s Cristiano Ronaldo comments prompt response from sister

Ronaldo’s sister, Katia Aveiro, took to Instagram to fire a shot back at Florentino Perez. Speaking first about her brother, Aveiro defended Ronaldo’s freakish athleticism.

“He’s 38 years old, but he can jump two metres high in the air and stay in it for three minutes, and his body has no fat,” she said (as reported by the Daily Mail).

Following this, Aveiro turned her attention to Perez.

“Respect yourself, old man, you are 75,” she fired back.

Bizarrely, neither of the involved parties in the argument got Ronaldo’s age right, as he is actually 37. This odd, yet brief, dispute provides a unique backdrop as the Portuguese icon prepares for United’s next Premier League game.

Will Ronaldo play for Man United against Brentford?

The Red Devils will look to get their first points of 2022/23 as they travel to Brentford on Saturday night. After a disappointing loss on the opening weekend, Erik ten Hag will hope for an improvement in this next game.

With Frenchman Anthony Martial still out through injury, forward options are limited. So, Cristiano Ronaldo is in contention to start for the first time this season. When asked if Ronaldo will play on Saturday, the manager spoke positively.

“He had a good training week,” said Ten Hag. “I thought he played a bit longer than half an hour, he’s had two half games and for the starting eleven we will see tomorrow.

“It is my decision, I keep it.”

United supporters will hope that their talisman gets the nod up front, as he could provide a much-needed spark to the side.
