Dustin Poirier believes he will once again finish Conor McGregor in their trilogy fight at UFC 264.
Back at UFC 257, Poirier knocked McGregor out in the second round of their highly anticipated rematch. Now, on July 10, they’ll run it back – and it seems as if the bad blood has crept back in.
Poirier feeling confident
The two elite lightweights are locked at 1-1 in their series and based on their recent social media interactions, it feels like the friendly atmosphere they had back in January has disappeared.
In anticipation of the Las Vegas spectacle, ‘The Diamond’ has put forward a confident prediction in preparation for his third meeting with ‘The Notorious’.
“I’m going to stop Conor again. On July 10 I’m going to get my hand raised and I’m going to finish Conor McGregor again.” He proclaimed.
Poirier went on to say that his star power has gone through the roof ever since the win on Fight Island.

“The celebrity and power that Conor has I don’t know if people, I mean a lot of people probably do realise that.
“But you go out there and you knock a guy out like that, it is like I’ve been fighting for 14 years and overnight you have one performance like that and everything changes.
“Things start to line up. Opportunities are more open and my phone hasn’t stopped ringing. It’s been a whirlwind since January 24.”
Poirier was initially offered the chance to fight for the UFC lightweight title after beating Conor but instead opted to pursue a third fight.
Financially speaking that’s not the worst idea but if he loses the trilogy, many wonder whether he may have missed out on a huge opportunity.
Whatever the case may be, Poirier certainly isn’t afraid to put it all on the line as International Fight Week approaches.
