Eddie Hearn makes prediction about AJ and Fury fight

Eddie Hearn has doubled down on his prediction of Anthony Joshua beating Tyson Fury if the two ever fight.

While the British superfight may have fallen through earlier this year due to a ruling from an American court of arbitration, many still hope – and somewhat expect – to see Joshua and Fury square off in what would likely be one of the biggest heavyweight boxing fights of all time.

Can AJ actually beat “The Gypsy King”?

Of course, the pair both have big obstacles to try and get through in the months to come as Joshua prepares to tackle Oleksandr Usyk and Fury gears up for a trilogy showdown with Deontay Wilder.

During a recent interview with UMM, AJ’s manager Eddie Hearn spoke about the progression Joshua has made in recent months and just how confident he is about the potential Fury fight.

“I believe AJ’s getting better and better all the time, he will beat Tyson Fury,” Hearn said.

“[Joshua] is so underrated. When you look at his resume, going back to Dillian Whyte, beating Charles Martin, fighting Klitschko, then Takam, then Povetkin, Parker, Ruiz, Ruiz, Pulev, Usyk, these are consecutive fights. There was no easy little gimmies on the way, do you know what I mean, that’s something that like normally happens with a world champion that’s been reigning five years.

“This guy’s a throwback fighter, he’s getting better and better, he needs all the respect in the world as a true heavyweight great now, not in time, let’s appreciate him now. But I promise you that over time he will go down as one of the all time heavyweight greats. I promise. And by the way, he’s a proper, proper lovely fella.”

Joshua is set to take on the undefeated Usyk at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on September 25.
