Formula One has seen some huge changes this year, both on and off the track. EA Sports and Codemasters’ latest instalment of the annual F1 game, F1 2022, is no different, with plenty of changes for racing fans to get excited about – here is our review.
Dropping last week, F1 2022 brings to life the exclusive world of Formula One. From new features such as F1 Life to rejuvenated and new up-to-date tracks, the game has everything.
You can take to some of the most iconic pieces of track across the globe as some of the best drivers around, or you can chance your skills and drop yourself into the world of Formula One.
F1 2022 review – New game modes and features
New features to the game include ‘F1 Life’, where you live out the life of an F1 driver both on and off the track. You’re given a flashy apartment, which you can kit out with some of the world’s best supercars, as well as top-of-the-range furnishings.
It’s not just the apartment you can kit out, either. You can customise your avatar’s look with some real brands to keep up to date with the latest trends. It gives the gamer a chance to live out their wildest fantasies as an F1 driver.
On the track, F1 2022 is brilliant across the board. Much like in real life, the cars have bigger wheels. In addition, Codemasters & EA have had to overhaul the in-game physics to mimic its on-track counterparts. The handling and physics are notably different from last year’s instalment, bringing to life an exciting new era of F1.
There is no story mode to play through this time around, but there is still plenty to do. You can hop on as your favourite drivers and take to the track, or you can set some fast laps to hone your skills before heading online.
My Team is also another exciting feature, updated from F1 2021. It combines both driving and team management. You can start from the front and maintain your dominance, or you can bring a team right to the very top for the first time.
F1 2022 review – An easy route for beginners, and visually excellent
For those taking to the track for the first time, don’t worry – F1 2022 has you covered. You can add driver assists to help you get the hang of the game before you strap yourself in for all the bumps and bangs of a real F1 race.
Visually, F1 2022 takes another leap, with some beautiful tracks and even better cars. That, paired with the true-to-life Sky TV coverage impressively imprinted into the game, makes for an immersive experience for any F1 fan.
F1 2022 is a must-have for any racing fan, new or old. Both technically and visually stunning, it is another huge step in the ever-growing world of F1.
