Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano handed Irish club Sligo Rovers a memorable social media moment through three little words: “here we go”.
The transfer window, whether it be in the summer or in January, always captures the imagination and excitement of football fans as they ponder over who is going to go where before the season begins. There are constant rumours flying around with the masses constantly trying to figure out which clubs are after which players – and most of the time, it never comes to fruition.
Is there anyone better than Fabrizio?
Alas, one man has emerged in the last few years and restored our faith in the supposed “sources” that collect information on transfers; and that man is Fabrizio Romano.
The Italian stallion has more than four million followers on Twitter and counting with fans of many different clubs asking for news on a minute-by-minute basis. Of course, he can’t quite get to everyone, but he did take time out of his busy schedule yesterday to grant a request from Ireland’s Sligo Rovers.
Sligo: “We always see people replying to your tweets asking for @sligorovers news. Unsure if they are joking. So, any Sligo Rovers news, Fab?”
Romano: “yes…been told you’ve agreed terms with Andre Wright, @DreWright7 , former LOI team of year striker in 2020. He’ll sign until the end of the current season for now. Announcement this afternoon and possible @sseairtricitylg debut vs Drogheda on 3 September. Here we go”
The bloke is an absolute force of nature and at this stage, we’re pretty sure every football fan would trust him with their lives.
