With a new contract coming at Aston Martin, Fernando Alonso may have even more money to build up his net worth beyond 2022. But just how rich is the two-time world champion?

For 2023, the former world champion has opted for a change of scenery. News released today announced that Alonso will join Aston Martin as of next season, replacing the retiring Sebastian Vettel. The Spanish ace currently makes £16 million a season on his contract with Alpine. However, this pales in comparison to his contract from his second stint at McLaren. From 2015-2017, the Woking-based outfit paid Alonso $32 million a season, per Sportskeeda.
Even back in 2010, when Alonso joined Ferrari, he earned a reported $23 million per season. A contract extension in 2011 would likely have only increased the driver’s pay, meaning that he earned significant sums of money at the Scuderia.
With both Aston Martin drivers sitting in the top ten earners on the grid, Fernando can expect a healthy pay packet from the British-based team, too.
Overall, Alonso’s career earnings from the world of F1 will definitely total hundreds of millions of pounds. If you consider that he has been in the sport since 2001, he has had plenty of time to save up as well.

Most recently, Alonso’s main endorsement comes from a unique company. Kimoa is a sports and lifestyle clothing and accessory brand that Alonso founded with a group of friends. Fernando regularly wears sunglasses and caps brandishing “his” brand, which also sells Alpine-related merchandise. Maybe this will change to Aston Martin gear next season, who knows?
Forbes reports that Alonso makes $1 million every single year as a result of his sponsorship opportunities. Among these are German sports giants Adidas, as well as motor oil brand Castrol.
