FIFA 21: Team of the week 28 predictions

Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane could headline FIFA 21 Team of the Week 28 after scoring a brace against Newcastle United on Sunday.

A 2-2 draw at St. James’s Park may not have been the result that Jose Mourinho’s side were looking for, but Kane was certainly on form throughout.

He scored his first from close range after an attempted clearance hit his left leg, with Kane’s second then taken with the clinical panache you expect from one of the world’s elite strikers.

If he does receive a stats boost, it would be the 27-year-old’s third in-form card of the season, having last featured in TOTW24.

Here’s a look at five other players that could be included in TOTW 28:

Wissam Ben Yedder (AS Monaco)

The card that really is marmite amongst the FIFA community. If you own a Wissam Ben Yedder card, he’ll be one of your top players. Find yourself against him and you’ll probably be picking the ball out of net on many an occasion.

The Frenchman was in fine real-life form for Monaco this week. In a 26-minute cameo off the bench, Ben Yedder scored twice as his side defeated Metz 4-0.

Despite only a short stint on the pitch, his performance was enough to earn the WhoScored star man award. Could it earn him a spot in Team of the Week 28 as well?

Gerard Moreno (Villarreal)

Gerard Moreno continued his fine campaign in front of goal during Villarreal’s 3-0 victory at Granada.

It was an important victory for Unai Emery’s men, who now sit in the European places as a result.

Moreno scored a hat-trick for the sixth-placed side, including two goals from the penalty spot. He received the WhoScored star man award, and moved himself up to second in the race for the LaLiga top goalscorer award.

The Spaniard has 19 goals to his name, four behind Lionel Messi.

Marcos Acuna (Sevilla)

Marcos Acuna’s all-round contribution for Sevilla against Atletico Madrid has thrown the LaLiga title race wide open.

The Argentinian scored his side’s only goal and contributed defensively to secure a 1-0 victory.

Atletico now sit just one point clear of Barcelona at the top of the division, with Real Madrid in third. Sevilla themselves are only eight points behind the league leaders.

Marcus Thuram (Borussia Moenchengladbach)

Marcus Thuram scored a brace for Borussia Moenchengladbach at the weekend to help them towards a 2-1 victory over Freiburg.

Despite going behind early, the Frenchman scored twice in a seven-minute spell to ensure his side kept pace in the race for the final European places in the Bundesliga.

Matheus Pereira (West Bromwich Albion)

West Brom produced arguably the Premier League performance of the season as they beat Chelsea 5-2 at Stamford Bridge.

Matheus Pereira was instrumental in creating a scoreline that no-one saw coming. Sam Allardyce’s side were superb in the capital, but Pereira’s contribution stood out the most.

The Brazilian scored twice in first half stoppage time before adding two assists as the Baggies ran riot at the beginning of the second half.
