FIFA 22 beta players highlight single problem with game so far

EA Sports released the closed beta for FIFA 22 earlier this month – with eligible players desperate to go on their respective game consoles/PCs and try the game out.

Playable modes on the beta includes kick-off, career mode and Ultimate Team.

Fans can also play the recently-added Volta Football mode.

It has given players the opportunity to experience some of FIFA 22’s new features, including HyperMotion technology.

Another improvement EA has made this year is a rewrite of the goalkeeper system.

EA wrote on their official website: “A brand new goalkeeper system brings a new level of intelligence to the last line of defence, unlocking more reliable shot-stopping and smarter decision making between the posts.

“Goalkeeper positioning personality replicates the different styles of keepers throughout the game – to represent the lightning-fast reflexes of world-class shot stoppers.”

Differing views on goalkeeper changes

Some users, however, have complained that it is now too hard to score against goalkeepers in FIFA 22 due to the changes made.

One user wrote on Reddit: “Without saying too much, GK’s are super broken and they make super human saves.

“I’m just warning you guys to get ready to get used having 15+ shots and only scoring 2 goals because the GK’s are extremely good and have insane recovery.”

Despite that comment, most users seem to be in favour of the changes made to goalkeepers in order to make matches more realistic.

One user said: “This sounds great and how it should be. No more 4-4 games. And easy peasy goal scoring in the far corner. Big win for FIFA.”

Another wrote: “Honestly I’ve played like 40 games so far and I’ve had no real issues with keepers. They feel about right in my opinion.”

A reply read: “Agreed. No complaints regarding goal keeps so far.”

FIFA 22 is set to release on PC and all major consoles – including new-gen consoles – on October 1.
