Last night, the fourth round proper of the Vitality Women’s FA Cup took place. The live draw saw Barclays Women’s Super League teams joining the mix, alongside National League and also Championship women’s football teams.
The fourth round of Women’s FA Cup matches is scheduled to take place on Saturday 28 and also Sunday 29 January 2022.
Matches drawn include current Cup holders Chelsea taking on Liverpool at home, and fourteen-time champions Arsenal facing either Leeds United or Stoke City.
The Women’s FA Cup draw was broadcasted live via Twitter and also The FA Player. It was orchestrated by former Tottenham captain Jenna Schillaci and powerhouse pundit and ex-Lioness Anita Asante. The former picked the home team, while the latter selected the away side.
The first name drawn was Manchester City. The three-time Women’s FA Cup winners are due to take on either Sheffield United or Nottingham Forest at the Academy Stadium in January.
Next, Coventry United drew National League South East Division 1 side Hashtag United.
Other notable matchups include Leicester City taking on Reading, Bristol City drawing Oxford United and also Wolverhampton, who will face WSL side West Ham United.
There are still third-round matches to be played
Due to adverse weather conditions last weekend, 13 third-round games are still to be played.
Therefore, it is still undecided who the likes of Manchester City, Burnley and Everton will be facing.
These 13 games are due to go ahead before the fourth-round clashes. Sheffield United have already confirmed that their third-round tie against Nottingham Forest has been rearranged. It will now take place on Sunday, January 8 2023.
Elsewhere, Birmingham City has also confirmed that their match against Huddersfield will take place on the same day.
