While many expect Anthony Joshua to blow Francis Ngannou out of the water, one MMA star believes the Cameroonian icon has every chance of springing the upset.
On March 8, the former UFC heavyweight champion will travel to Saudi Arabia to battle it out with one of the sweet science’s brightest talents. And while on paper, ‘The Predator’s’ chances are slim, having just dropped Tyson Fury, many are placing their bets on the inexperienced boxer.
Utilising his remarkable strength and ability to fight inside the clinch, Ngannou gave ‘The Gypsy King’ a run for his money, with fans around the world thinking he’d done enough to claim the victory.

However, this time, the mixed martial artist won’t have the element of surprise, with AJ more than aware of the threat his rival presents. But even with a full camp, a UFC Hall of Famer is confident that Joshua will have more than his hands full when he sets foot in the ring, with the planet’s most dangerous man.
UFC legend says Francis Ngannou can beat Anthony Joshua
England’s first UFC King, Michael Bisping, knows more than a thing or two about combat sports. So, if he’s giving Ngannou a shot at the upset, then perhaps we should as well.
In an interview with Betway, he said: “Tyson Fury’s father said that there were people around training camp that maybe weren’t the best influences on him and maybe that affected his performance, but Anthony Joshua isn’t going to do that.”
He continued: “Anthony Joshua’s a proper athlete. AJ takes his career very, very seriously, and he’s had a great 2023; he’s won three in a row. He looked great against Otto Wallin, he looked back to the old AJ, he got his stoppage inside five rounds. But you have to give Ngannou a chance. If he can sit down Tyson Fury, he can probably sit down Anthony Joshua.”
