A French journalist has claimed that Neymar is “ruining PSG” and has called on the club to sell the Brazilian star this summer.
The French side invested a whopping €222 million into bringing the iconic forward to Parc des Princes in 2016.
It goes without saying that they expected a huge return on their investment. There have been plenty of moments of individual brilliance, but the Brazilian has been the subject of growing criticism in recent months.
Even the reigning Ballon d’Or winner has struggled to find his feet in Ligue 1. After departing Barcelona last summer, Lionel Messi has struggled to hit the ground running.
In addition, with French sensation Kylian Mbappe seemingly set for his ‘dream move’ to Real Madrid at the end of the season, ‘Les Parisiens’ are in disarray.
The PSG owners have pumped a humongous amount of money into the club but still haven’t achieved the one accolade they crave the most – a Champions League title.
On March 9, PSG crashed out of Europe’s premier competition under humiliating circumstances. In the first leg of their last 16 against Real Madrid, Mbappe stole the show with a last-minute winner. He even carried that momentum into the second fixture to put his team into a comfortable position with a 2-0 lead. But somehow, they threw it all away.
PSG failed to contain Karim Benzema, and after three individual errors, the striker punished them. He bagged a hattrick to end the nine-time Ligue 1 winners’ hopes of finally picking up a Champions League title.

Following years of reserving their opinions, the fans’ patience is wearing very thin.
PSG fans boo the players
Since the club’s European exit, PSG supporters have made their feelings known. During the club’s Ligue 1 game against Bordeaux on March 13, the players received loud boos from the stands at Parcs des Princes.
Messi and Neymar are used to the highs of the games. They are certainly not accustomed to being portrayed as public enemy number one. But that is the position they are currently in.
It didn’t matter that they bossed the game en route to a 3-0 victory. Nor was it any consolation that the Brazilian bagged a goal.

But if the press weren’t already targeting Neymar enough, they now have even more ammunition to fire at the sublimely gifted footballer.
Journalist claims Neymar disrespects PSG
It’s fair to say that the French giants are going through a crisis of epic proportions. So this revelation is the last thing they needed. Esteemed reporter Daniel Riolo has alleged that their highly-rated player is not taking his position at the team seriously enough.
The journalist made the claims to RMC Sport, as per Marca: “Neymar hardly trains anymore, he arrives in a sorry state, almost drunk. That’s the way it is. Neymar is in a spirit of revenge against PSG.
“PSG fans don’t give a s*** about Neymar’s antics or his Netflix documentary. We have to sign his check, and let him go. He’s doing a lot of damage to the club.
“Let him go, he’s ruining PSG.”

This statement is one that fans won’t like to hear. Fellow French journalist Romain Molina has reported that the PSG ownership wants to sell Neymar. With comments like these, don’t be surprised to see those reports become a reality.
