Gareth Bale has explained the confusion surrounding one of Tottenham’s goal celebrations at the weekend.
Spurs ran out comfortable 4-0 winners over Burnley in an emphatic return to form on Sunday. Bale scored a brace, Kane got another and Lucas Moura got in on the act.
Above all else though, the real headline-maker of the day was Bale. The Welshman stole the show in a performance that looked like something resembling his best again.
Amongst his standout display on the pitch, it was actually one of his celebrations that raised a few eyebrows.
Many will be familiar with the Welsh Mafia celebration that Bale regularly utilises. Yesterday, after the opening goal of the game, Bale and Son Heung-min decided to celebrate in front of the camera, with the forward breaking out his usual move.
That led to Moura joining in with what can only be described as a third-wheel type of moment.
So I've just realised Sonny is doing a 'K' for the Korean Mafia, Bale's doing the Welsh Mafia and Lucas is doing, well, the Lucas Mafia. ???

When questioned about the matter, Bale couldn’t help but burst into laughter as he explained.
“Because everyone’s seen that ours is Welsh Mafia, he’s decided to go with just ‘Lucas'” Bale said after the game.

Spurs fans will be hoping that Bale’s performance over the weekend sets the tone for the second half of their season.
It’s no secret that so far his much-anticipated return to the club where he made a name for himself hasn’t materialised the way many had hoped. Fingers crossed his two goals will be a decent foundation for him to kick on and revitalise a frustratingly stop-start career in recent years.
If they can string together a few more wins, then perhaps the top four can once again be a realistic prospect.
