Grealish agent opens door to summer move, but dismisses Man United

Jack Grealish’s agent has revealed that “many clubs” are interested in signing the Aston Villa star – but Manchester United aren’t top of the list.

Jonathan Barnett – whose other clients include the likes of Gareth Bale and Jordan Pickford – added that Grealish “could stay” at Villa.

The midfielder has scored six goals and provided 10 assists from 22 Premier League appearances this season.

He has been absent from the Villa side since late February due to injury.

His excellent form has prompted interest from some of Europe’s biggest clubs, according to Barnett.

However, the agent’s comments may concern United fans keen to see Grealish sign for the Red Devils.

He told SNTV: “The truth is we don’t know [what will happen]. There are many clubs [interested] and I wouldn’t put Manchester United at the top of that.

“He could stay as well, so it’s a conversation the club, Aston Villa, will have with Jack and ourselves and then we’ll see where we go.

“He loves Villa but I think we just have to wait and see how things pan out.

“At the moment he is a Villa player and he has no thoughts about anything else.

“He could be a big star in the summer, he maybe should have been playing a bit earlier for England.”

Grealish’s return to action

Aston Villa are currently sat in 11th in the Premier League with four games to go, and could secure a top half finish.

They sit three points behind 10th-placed Leeds United, with a game in hand.

Dean Smith’s side won their opening four games of the season, which included a stunning 7-2 victory over Liverpool in October – a game in which Grealish scored and provided three assists.

The 25-year-old has returned to full training this week, although Smith said that the club would be “very conservative” with his return to action.

Grealish has missed Villa’s last 12 games because of his injury.
