Over the last few years, Roman Reigns has dominated the wrestling landscape, but just how long has he been WWE Universal Champion?
When ‘The Big Dog’ first arrived in the promotion, he didn’t quite connect with the fans. But in a testament to his powers of self-belief, the powerhouse kept on grinding until he reached the top. And now, he’s become the biggest name in the company.
The 37-year-old has utilised his incredible physical gifts and ominous aura on the mic to attract the eyeballs of millions of fans around the world.
His rise to prominence has seen him take on a number of the greatest wrestlers in the history of WWE. At WrestleMania 38, he pinned Brock Lesnar to win the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship. But before then, he laid waste to every challenger placed in front of him. Kevin Owens, Edge, Rey Mysterio, John Cena, Finn Balor and more have all been cast aside.
However, this weekend, he has his biggest test yet. The powerhouse will travel to the Principality Stadium in an attempt to defend his Undisputed titles against Drew McIntyre. Before then, he will celebrate two years as Universal Champion on the upcoming edition of SmackDown.
Having kept hold of the belt for such a long time, he doesn’t expect to lose it yet.
