‘I can’t get past you’… Mary Earps reveals she gets frustrated messages from fans over her EA Sports FC 25 card

Mary Earps is one of the greatest shot stoppers in all of football, with the PSG star infuriating not just real-life players, but those who come up against her card in EA Sports FC 25.

Rated at 86 on the game, (previously FIFA), the European Championship winner is unsurprisingly very tough to beat.

Mary Earps teams up with PlayStation for crazy event

On Saturday, Mary Earps participated in a breathtaking crossover event with PlayStation, the NBA and the Champions League, in which the worlds of football and basketball collided.

Alongside NBA legend, Tony Parker, and former Arsenal winger, Robert Pires, the goalkeeper joined in with the public to play a series of challenges on a specially designed court inspired by the PS5 DualSense controller, that featured two football goals and basketball hoops — all against a scenic backdrop of the city’s famous Eiffel Tower.

Blown away by it all, Earps beamed: “It’s really cool. I’ve never seen anything like this before.”

The talented athlete loved getting stuck in with all the gamers, with many of them having either used her card on EA Sports FC 25 to annoy their opponents, or have had the misfortune of coming across her.

Although, she does confess that the virtual version of herself makes the odd mistake here and there.

She laughed: “I have seen myself on FIFA (FC 25), and I get tagged in a lot of stuff when people play with my card. It’s one of them when you’re either getting really positive messages, and it’s really good, or it’s the complete opposite, there’s no in-between. It’s extreme of, ‘What does this card even do’? Or ‘I can’t get past you’.”

Mary Earps slapped Angry Ginge and Harry Pinero

From winning the Euros, to her infamous World Cup Final penalty save, the 31-year-old has cemented her place in the hearts of England supporters across the country.

And away from the pitch, she’s utilized her charisma to entertain fans in a variety of different ways, with her video with Angry Ginge and Harry Pinero particularly amusing fans, with the footballer slapping the content creators with various items.

Earps chuckled: “That was a really good piece of content if I do say so myself. I was on a shoot with Puma at the time, We were doing a Q&A, and Angry Ginge and Harry Pinero had to answer questions about myself. The more they got right, the less they got slapped with objects or the other person got slapped.”

But while the Nottinghamian, who was inspired to play the game by the likes of Iker Casillas and Manuel Neuer, is now undeniably a star, she hasn’t forgotten how much she loves the beautiful game, with the legend determined to win the European Championships for her country for a second time.

She exclaimed: “We’re the defending champions, so of course we need to prepare right. We need to be on our A-Game, and we’re going to do our absolute best to win it. Football has gone from strength to strength over the past two years, it’s getting tougher at the top, but we want to bring that trophy home.”
