‘I was wrestling Chris Jericho on a boat’… Zack Gibson tells the craziest story of his career

Exclusive: Zack Gibson once went to war with Chris Jericho on a boat.

From touring China to winning the WWE NXT Tag Team titles and starting Burning Heart Pro Wrestling, the Liverpudlian has done many incredible things in his career, but going toe-to-toe with an all-time great in the middle of the ocean is one of his favourite memories.

Zack Gibson wrestled Chris Jericho on a boat

Zack Gibson has loved every second of his wrestling journey, with the sport constantly providing him with memorable moments.

However, back in February, he received the opportunity to push the boundaries further than ever before.

In an exclusive interview with Sporf, he said: “We did the Jericho cruise this year. I thought I’d ticked all the boxes in wrestling. Then, I was wrestling Chris Jericho, Enzo Amore, Big Cass and Bryan Keith in the main event on a boat on the way back from the Dominican Republic. It’s just so weird. Whenever I think, ‘I’ve seen it all now’, wrestling gives you some new twists.”

Zack Gibson can’t wait to destroy Lykos Gym to defend his Burning Heart Wrestling Tag Team titles

While his experience on The Chris Jericho Cruise was nothing short of fantastic, that’s not the only reason 2025 has been so amazing for Gibson.

Alongside James Drake, The Grizzled Young Veterans picked up the Burning Heart Pro Wrestling Tag Team titles.

And now, the magnificent duo have a new challenge on their hands, in the form of Lykos Gym.

At a Burning Heart Pro Wrestling show in Manchester on August 3, the new challengers distracted Gibson during his match with Kenny Williams, allowing the star’s opponent to take advantage and secure the win.

Understandably, the Scouser can’t wait to get his revenge.

He raged: “I was up for the match and everything was going my way. In the match before, Lykos Gym became the number one contenders for the tag team titles. I’m one half of the tag team champions, so whether they admit it or not, I think what’s happened there is they’ve seen an opportunity to come out while it’s going to be two vs one, try to ruffle the feathers and get in my head. Well, mission accomplished, lads.

“The next time you see me, James Drake will be back with me again, and I don’t think you’re going to enjoy that as much as you think you will. I’m going to enjoy every last bit of kicking their heads in.”
