Neymar made an appearance for Brazil against Scotland in the FIFA World Cup 2026 group stage, but will he play this evening against Japan?
The second match of the Round of 32 will be contested at Houston Stadium in Houston, Texas, USA.
Neymar could play for Brazil against Japan
Neymar only made a brief cameo against Scotland, during which he marked his first appearance for his country in 981 days.
However, despite his glorious comeback, the legend isn’t quite ready to play a full 90 minutes. Although, by the sounds of things, he’s heading in the right direction.
On Sunday, according to as, Carlo Ancelotti told reporters “Neymar is coming along very nicely. He has progressed really well this week. It’s a shame he hasn’t been able to train for all the time he’s been with us, but he can play more than 15 minutes. He’s in really pretty good shape. A lot depends on how the game unfolds tomorrow.”
With this in mind, the 34-year-old will probably make his mark on the game against Japan, but is unlikely to play the full the fixture.
Having scored 79 goals for his nation, Neymar will hope that he can add to that tally throughout the tournament.
