Jake Paul offered title fight with one significant condition

If you’re a fan of Jake Paul and you also like a good pro wrestling storyline, then you’re in for a treat. If you’re not a fan, you might like this regardless.

Up to this point we’ve seen Paul beat a fellow YouTuber, a former NBA star and an ex-UFC fighter. What has followed has been a series of call-outs and attention that has split the combat world into two sides.

We’ve seen the likes of Mike Tyson pay tribute to Paul’s ability to generate numbers, while Dana White has on more than one occasion, refused to buy into any of it.

Jake Paul’s ultimatum

Between calling out boxing champions and pushing for a bout against Conor McGregor, the current hype surrounding the whole thing offers enough reason to believe the 24-year-old won’t be disappearing any time soon.

Despite that, there are plenty, like White, who have bluntly shot down his approach. Now Wasserman Boxing’s Kalle Sauerland has put forward the following offer for Jake to consider.

A social media post reads: “Hey @jakepaul – happy to arrange you taking a shot at Mairis Briedis belts, only condition if you lose you have to leave boxing…deal?”

Mairis Briedis is widely considered to be one of the best cruiserweights in the world. With a 27-1 record and his only defeat coming against Oleksandr Usyk, it’s no secret that Briedis would be the overwhelming favourite heading into any potential meeting.

The “leave boxing forever” stipulation alone might be enough to put Paul off pursuing, but the fact that Briedis has even taken the time to call him out shows what kind of impact Jake is having on the sport.

He’s gone from YouTuber to celebrity boxing phenomenon in the space of just a few years and bigger names are beginning to take notice.

The next fight in the Paul brothers saga will take place on June 6 when Logan Paul competes against Floyd Mayweather in an exhibition bout.
