In his time at Leicester City, the Englishman proved his goal-scoring abilities beyond doubt, hitting the back of the net on 200 occasions.

Growing up, Jamie Vardy loved watching Alessandro Del Piero showcase his skills.

Renowned for his fantastic dribbling, fearsome free kicks, and laser-like accuracy, the Italian caught the eye of the Brit who dreamed of playing in the Serie A himself.

Discussing his heroes with DAZN, Vardy explained: “When I was younger, it was Del Piero. You watch him play – he was unbelievable. Watching him score most weeks was really encouraging for me. Having watched that, me coming here and trying to do exactly the same – it’s really exciting.”
