EXCLUSIVE: Jens Lehmann would love the opportunity to join forces with Kylian Mbappé.
The former German international goalkeeper is currently working wonders alongside his old Arsenal teammate, Robert Pires, and YouTube star Eman SV2, with the trio managing N5 FC in the Baller League.
Jens Lehmann wants Kylian Mbappé to play for his Baller League team
Having proven their footballing credentials beyond doubt by becoming ‘The Invincibles’ back in 2003-04, Jens Lehmann and Robert Pires are now giving back to the next generation, handing down their knowledge to a team of classy operators at N5 FC.
The side has won four of its first five games and currently sits atop the Baller League table, with many believing the squad has the potential to go the whole way.
WOW: Idris Elba wants three Arsenal superstars to join his Baller League team
Discussing their success in an exclusive interview with Sporf, Lehmann explained: “Maybe the magic is Eman SV2, who has come into our team. To be honest, it’s always the players. We were here last season as well, and we lost more than we won. We only won one. But we understand the game from last season, and we know what mistakes we made. This year, so far, we’re doing well. We’re playing good enough to win.”
However, while his team is performing brilliantly, the Premier League champion would love to add one exciting footballer to the mix.
Lehmann chuckled: “I’d love to play Kylian Mbappé. You can ask him.”
Jens Lehmann discusses Arsenal vs Manchester United rivalry
On the Baller League field, teams often clash with players going all out to defeat their rivals. And, of course, it goes without saying that Lehmann knows the importance of big matches, having played in many a showdown against Manchester United.
He reminisced: “There are a lot of memories. What is different today is that nobody would’ve dared hug any United players before or after the game. We have been told we are entertainers who need to entertain the public. But today, when I’m in a stadium, I know no coach is telling their players to entertain the crowd. Sometimes, football is getting boring — it’s too nice and slow. We need to get back to this emotional rivalry between teams.”
