A lot of attention has been paid to Liverpool’s injury list this season, as they like many others struggle to manage a relentless fixture pileup.
Jurgen Klopp has been one of the more vocal in his complaints, consistently calling out broadcasters and having a full-blown argument with Des Kelly about the whole situation in a post-game interview.
You know…This one…

Despite the struggles, Liverpool sit level on points at the top of the Premier League table with Tottenham, with the pair set to go head-to-head in a delicious sounding fixture on Wednesday night.
In typical fashion, Mourinho has started the mind games early, dismissing the impact of Liverpool’s injuries, insisting that apart from van Dijk, their problems are no worse than anyone else.
“Alisson is not injured, Alexander-Arnold is not injured, Matip I believe is going to play, Fabinho is not injured, Robertson is not injured, Henderson is not injured, Wijnaldum is not injured, Salah is not injured, Firmino is not injured, Mane is not injured.” Mourinho explained in his press conference.
“Van Dijk is injured and van Dijk is a very good player of course, but give me Liverpool’s list of injuries and compare that list with what is the best Liverpool team.”

Whether or not Jose has a point, missing van Dijk against a team that has Harry Kane and Son Heung-Min in the form of their lives is going to be a huge task for Liverpool.
However you look at it, tomorrow night’s game could play a pivotal role in how the rest of the season pans out, especially as we head into the busy Christmas period.
