Kimpembe produces one of the all-time great tackles despite being injured

We’re firm believers that a perfectly timed tackle should be celebrated just as much as any goal.

Paolo Maldini was largely credited with turning defending into an art form – in PSG’s 0-0 draw with Lille, Presnel Kimpembe produced last-ditch heroics that the Italian would be glowingly proud of.

As Lille broke away late on in the game, the Frenchman found himself on the wrong end of a four-on-one counterattack. To make matters worse, the defender visibly begins to pull up with what looks like a groin injury.

Despite the odds being stacked against him, Kimpembe managed to keep pace with the attack, launching himself into a game-saving tackle and even managing to clear the ball to safety from the floor.

It’s a stunning effort from Kimpembe, however the clip gets even better with this French commentator losing his mind.

This has got us thinking, what’s the greatest bit of defending you’ve ever witnessed? This has surely got to be up there with the best of them.
