Scottish giants Celtic have released their classy new away kit which they will wear on their travels throughout 2023/24.
Supplier Adidas have chosen black as the base colour for the Glaswegian club, continuing a trend of recent years. Celtic’s 2022/23 alternate strip was also in the dark shade, as was their third/fourth kit from 2020-2022.
However, this latest offering does away with the stripes of last season’s change shirt to produce a very different look.
Celtic call their new strip “the perfect mix of history and modernity” in a short promo video unveiling the product. And, after looking at the kit, it is hard to disagree.
Celtic 2023/24 away kit: the details
Adidas elected to give the collar of the jersey a more traditional feel. The top has a button-up collar, albeit with just a single fastening right at the top. Said collar has a pair of green and white, stitched stripes surrounding it as well, which is a lovely touch.
The modern elements on the new Celtic 2023/24 away kit arrive in the form of the logos. Here, the Bhoys have opted for a white effect on the club crest – giving a sleek and minimalist feel. This continues onto the Adidas logo, as well as the sponsor emblazoned across the chest.
Meanwhile, dark green Adidas stripes cascade down the sleeves of the top, with the same colour present on the shorts’ stripes, too.
Unfortunately, fans have to wait until 23 June before being able to get their hands on this stunner. However, the fresh jersey is available to pre-order now.
A new shirt is not the only change occurring at Celtic Park this summer. The Scottish Premier League giants are also in the midst of a change in management, too.
Brendan Rodgers closing in on sensational Celtic return
After winning a domestic treble in 2022/23, Celtic lost coach Ange Postecoglou to Premier League side, Spurs. As a result, the Scottish giants have been searching for the Australian’s replacement.
Celtic have thus looked to their past in order to secure their future manager. According to Sky Sports, Brendan Rodgers is in “advanced talks” with the club to return as head coach.
The Northern Irishman’s last job was at Leicester City. After winning the FA Cup with the Foxes, he left the Premier League side in the midst of a relegation battle earlier this year. Prior to this, Rodgers had coached Swansea, Liverpool, and of course, Celtic.
Rodgers enjoyed great success during his first stint in Scotland. He guided Celtic to back-to-back League/Scottish Cup/Scottish League Cup trebles in 2016/17 and 2017/18.
But who else is in the running for the role? Per Oddschecker, Man City assistant Enzo Maresca is a widely-respected member of Pep Guardiola’s coaching staff who could have a chance. Alternatively, former Norwich boss Daniel Farke has also been in the running.
For now, though, Brendan Rodgers is certainly the favourite. With their new away kit and a new manager, Celtic are experiencing a lot of change heading into 2023/24.
