Man City legend Yaya Toure among three FUT Heroes revealed for FIFA 23

Manchester City legend Yaya Toure is among the first three footballers confirmed to be included in the FUT Heroes promo in FIFA 23.

FUT Heroes were first introduced in FIFA 22. They are similar to the popular in-game Icon cards. That is because their stats represent a time period in which they took the football world by storm.

However, unlike Icons, FUT Heroes have league-specific chemistry that is relevant to a particular footballing moment. They also have a nation link. That means that they do not receive green links to other FUT Heroes cards.

For most of FIFA 22, each FUT Hero only had one card available to obtain. However, EA unveiled a new ‘FUT Captains‘ promo in April, which saw some cards receive special one-time upgrades. Players saw a repeat of this in the ‘Shapeshifters’ promo that was released earlier in July.

Who are the new FUT Heroes cards for FIFA 23?

EA have now confirmed that three additional former footballing stars are joining the FUT Heroes cast for FIFA 23.

Among the new FUT Heroes for FIFA 23 is Yaya Toure. The Ivorian played for Manchester City between 2010 and 2018. He scored 59 goals in 230 appearances.

A powerful box-to-box midfielder, Toure smashed in 20 goals in 35 games during City’s 2013/14 Premier League-winning campaign. It is considered as one of the most dominant English top flight seasons by any player.

On his day, the midfielder was unstoppable. EA have therefore given him a FUT Hero card. It is locked to the Premier League.

Also in the FUT Heroes campaign for FIFA 23 is Manchester United hero Park Ji-Sung. Renowned for his stamina and work rate, Park was a vital component of the Red Devils side that was so successful under Sir Alex Ferguson in the mid to late 2000s. He also has a Premier League card for FIFA 23.

The third and final ex-Premier League star to be a new FUT Hero is former Chelsea centre-back Ricardo Carvalho.

One of Jose Mourinho‘s first signings as Blues manager in 2004, Carvalho spent six years at Stamford Bridge. He was one of the best defenders in the division. In addition, he won three Premier League titles.

Furthermore, in a post on their official website, EA confirm that more FUT Heroes will arrive over the summer.

They also added: “Find FUT 23 Heroes in-game from launch, with an additional special FIFA World Cup FUT Hero version for each FUT 23 Hero to be released starting November 11, celebrating a famous performance on the world’s biggest stage.”
