Axel Tuanzebe hasn’t reached the heights expected of him at Manchester United, but his recent Instagram post shows he’s working hard to reach his full potential.
Since graduating from the club’s youth development system, the 24-year-old’s talent has been evident. He possesses great reactions, can read the game well and can easily catch even the quickest of Premier League strikers.
In 2019-20, he became the youngest player to captain the side since Norman Whiteside during a game against Rochdale in the League Cup. In addition, he also featured in the side that beat PSG under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and dealt with Kylian Mbappe with ease.
But despite his ability, he’s struggled to cement his place as an Old Trafford mainstay. A plethora of injuries have hindered his progress, and despite several loan moves, he’s struggled to really hit the ground running.
In January, after returning from Aston Villa, he attempted to gain further experience with Napoli. However, it didn’t work out as he only managed to make two appearances. But with his fire still burning bright, the youngster is trying his hardest to get his career back on the right track.

With his footballing future on the line, the defender has showcased his willingness to go the extra mile. He’s taken to Instagram to post a story highlighting the extra care he’s taking towards his body.
It’s clear he’s training like a machine in the gym. The image shows his shredded abs, bulging biceps and enormous shoulders. Consequently, United fans have flooded social media to give their opinions.
Obviously, some remain negative. But most supporters are hoping that this will be the catalyst that sparks Tuanzebe to play to the standard the experts believe he can.
