Manchester United set for talks over Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s future

Manchester United are set to hold talks over the future of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer following the club’s loss to Liverpool on Sunday.

The calls for a change at the top have been relentless over the course of the last 24 hours after Manchester United were well and truly humbled by bitter rivals Liverpool. It was the kind of one-sided beating that exposed the fears of the masses with regards to how many problems United have in their first team right now and, moving forward, big alterations need to be made if the club wants to secure Champions League football next season.

The main question on everyone’s lips has been focused on Solskjaer and whether or not he’s got what it takes to be an elite manager in English football. For a few years now he’s had the full backing of the Manchester United board but after being taken apart by Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool, the board are starting to take the idea of finding a replacement very seriously.

Will he stay or will he go?

“Manchester United managing director Richard Arnold is understood to have cancelled all appointments on Monday to hold talks with Glazer about Ole Gunnar Solskjær position. #MUFC @JamieJackson___ Decision on Solskjær’s future still to be made. Conversations on. #Solskjaer”

There was definitely a look of resignation in the eyes of Ole when he walked down the tunnel yesterday but if anyone is going to want to stay and fight, it’s him.
