Jesse Lingard continued his staggering form since joining West Ham over the weekend, notching two more goals in his side’s win over top-four-contenders Leicester.
Lingard was instrumental once more, helping his side overcome a late fight back to secure three points which could prove vital come the end of the season.
The midfielder’s form has been a huge part of West Ham’s unlikely charge towards Champions League football and even earned him a recall to the latest England squad.
Turns out the 28-year-old has had a little bit of extra motivation to perform, courtesy of Hammers skipper Mark Noble.
Speaking after their 3-2 win, Noble revealed that he had made a bet with Lingard when he joined on loan in January, which would involve him paying for a night out and hotel stay for his teammate.
“As much as Jesse’s goals were fantastic, I had a bet with him when he joined that if he scored eight goals, I’d pay for a night out for him and a stay in the Corinthia Hotel, so it’s going to cost me a few quid! He’s been fantastic for us hasn’t he!” He revealed.

His latest brace took him up to that eight-goal mark, with Lingard also boasting three assists to his name.
Following another impressive result, West Ham now sit fourth in the league with seven games to go, one point behind third-placed Leicester and a point ahead of fifth-placed Chelsea.
From an individual standpoint, should Lingard continue his inspired showings his fairytale comeback could be complete with a spot at the Euros this summer, something which would have been inconceivable just a few months ago.
