In a breathtaking performance that garnered the appreciation of the fans, Max Holzer marched to the cage, dressed as Batman, choked his opponent unconscious, and then gifted him a chocolate bar for good measure.
With charisma and showmanship, the German sensation made an enormous splash at Oktagon 57, sending shockwaves through the Festhalle in Frankfurt.
Max Holzer dressed as Batman for Oktagon 57
After making a cool and composed entrance, the rising star’s opponent, Eemil Kurhela, couldn’t believe his ears as the ‘Batman’ theme song blasted through the speakers, prompting 13,000 spectators to rise to their feet, as Holzer, utilising his remarkable powers of self-promotion, stormed the cage, dressed as everyone’s favourite super hero.
His undeniably entertaining entrance certainly caught the attention of the crowd and, indeed, those watching at home. However, without the performance to match, his crazy antics would’ve made him look nothing short of a joke. However, to his credit, the man who goes by the nickname, ‘Stifler’ produced a showing that proved he has more than enough to make it to the very top.
Exhibiting sensational grappling prowess, Holzer locked in a terrifying rear-naked choke, to put his opponent to the sleep in the second round.
Subsequently, the triumphant 22-year-old leapt atop the cage, where he proceeded to celebrate with Gogi, Oktagon’s gorilla mascot, before gifting his fallen rival a delicious chocolate bar.
Blessed with natural atheletiscm and an unrelenting will to win, Holzer is quickly solidifying his place as one of the most exciting prospects in Europe. And with such a scintilating performance, the Fightschool Hannover Graduate may well have just booked his place on Oktagon’s massive stadium bill at Frankfurt’s 55,000-seater, Deutsche Bank Park on October 12.
