Mo Salah nearing Champions League record

Mo Salah is undoubtedly a sporting legend, with many an accolade on his record. After all, this is a man who’s won the Champions League, FA Cup, League Cup and Premier League.

The Egyptian superstar, renowned for his lightning speed, laser-like finishing and sublime footballing IQ, regularly produces exceptional performances in Europe.

This is reflected in the statistics, published on Liverpool’s website via club statistician, Ged Rea, with Salah having hit the back of the net in the biggest tournament in club football on 49 separate occasions. This is the most of any African player in the history of the competition.

WOW: Premier League icon says he kept Luis Suarez ‘quiet’ with the one defender he ‘knew was better’ than him

Therefore, if the icon can produce a special display against the Turkish giants on Wednesday evening, then he could be in a position to score a historic 50th goal.

And that’s not the only accomplishment Salah is chasing. If he plays in the match, Salah will join Sami Hyypia as joint-third in the club’s list of all-time appearances in Europe with 94.

The game kicks off at 8 PM tomorrow evening, live from Anfield.
