EXCLUSIVE: Paul Wight isn’t just lethal with his famous KO Punch, but also with cookies.
Before his time as a professional wrestler, the legend, who’s now electrifying crowds in AEW, worked as a doorman. And on one particularly eventful evening, a customer pushed him to the edge.
Paul Wight threw a cookie during nightclub clash
At 7ft, despite his friendly nature, Paul Wight is an extremely intimidating individual, capable of crushing the average man with his bear hands. Therefore, it comes as somewhat of a shock, that anybody would engage the powerhouse in a verbal sparring match. However, in the midst of a dramatic confrontation, one man did just that, and he was hit in the head by a flying cookie for his troubles.
In an exclusive interview with Sporf, Wight reminisced: “It’s funny. I was working as a doorman in Philadelphia at a club called Delilah’s Den, and there was a guy who was being very difficult. We threw him out of the bar, and he’s probably 25-30 feet away, and they had these big, thick chocolate chip cookies. They were monstrous cookies. He had to have the last word, like a little dog, ‘Yip, yip, yip, yip, yip’. He said something pretty smart—some kind of comment. I don’t remember exactly what it was now. I remember I couldn’t get to him fast enough, but I could throw a cookie, and I threw that cookie, and it exploded like a gunshot right in the back of his head. It hit him in the back of the head, and cookie fragments went all over the roof of the cab and the whole nine yards. If there had been a world championship cookie throw, I think I would have been a top contender back in the day.”

And it looks like Wight intends to treat wrestling enthusiasts to a few more big matches before he retires.
In his career, the 54-year-old has battled it out with some of the best in the business. However, there are still some stars of the sport he’s yet to get his hands on.
