Richarlison and Vinicius Jr appear to have been separated by Neymar and other Brazil players after an incident during a training session on Sunday.
The Brazil squad are in Tokyo ahead of their friendly against Japan on June 6.
It is their second friendly of the most recent international period. Tite’s side took on South Korea on June 2, defeating them 5-1. Neymar scored twice – both from the penalty spot – while Richarlison opened the scoring.
But off-field matters involving the Everton forward could potentially derail preparations for Selecao’s next match.
Richarlison and Vinicius Jr separated by team-mates
Imagery from the recent Brazil training session shows Richarlison and the Real Madrid forward clearly at odds.
In one photo, Vinicius Jr has a hand on Richarlison’s head, whilst Brazil team-mates quickly race over to try and break them up.
In another photo, both players have a hold of each other’s training shirts. Neymar, Dani Alves and Lucas Paqueta are the three players trying to intervene and pull the two players apart.
It is unclear what sparked the argument, or why the two players appear to be so furious with each other. However, they will both surely be in contention to start against Japan after excellent endings to the current domestic season.
Richarlison scored four goals in his final seven Premier League appearances to help Everton beat the drop. He netted 10 goals over the course of the league campaign, and was unquestionably a key player for the Toffees.
Vinicius Jr, meanwhile, scored the winner in the Champions League Final as Real Madrid beat Liverpool 1-0. The Brazilian winger is now amongst the favourites to claim what would be his first-ever Ballon d’Or.
The Brazil squad will hope that these issues are quickly solved, with the national side in action in just a matter of hours.
