MJF net worth: How much money has the AEW star earned?

AEW star MJF is currently involved in one of the most controversial sagas in wrestling – and most of the issues are understood to surround his current contract. Read on to find out his net worth.

MJF is one of the biggest talents in wrestling today, especially when it comes to operating the mic.

He was involved in one of the most incredible promos in AEW history when he took on CM Punk in a mic battle after the ‘Best in the World’ returned to wrestling last year.

MJF has quickly risen up the ranks to the point where he is now a bonafide wrestling star. AEW and WWE will both be desperate to secure his signature when his current deal expires in 2024.

MJF’s career to date

After becoming a professional wrestler, MJF made his debut in Combat Zone Wrestling (CZW) in 2015, using the ring name Pete Lightning.

He then spent three years with Major League Wrestling (MLW) between 2017 and 2020 under the ring name Maxwell Jacob Feinstein. MJF then signed a five-year deal with AEW in January 2019, before embarking on a long unbeaten streak.

The wrestler defeated the likes of ‘Hangman’ Adam Page, Dustin Rhodes and Jungle Boy, before being handed his first singles loss by Jon Moxley in September 2020.

After a brief spell with Chris Jericho‘s ‘Inner Circle’ stable, MJF then began a feud with the returning CM Punk. He was already considered a major rising star in professional wrestling, but the Punk feud arguably elevated him to even greater heights.

Since then, MJF has been embroiled in a controversial saga with AEW and their lead promoter, Tony Khan. The 26-year-old did not show up to a fan festival before Double or Nothing.

He then delivered a promo on AEW Dynamite, where he criticised fellow wrestlers in the company and called Khan a “f***ing mark” live on-air.

The disagreement between MJF and AEW relates to the wrestler’s contract. PWInsider (as per WrestlingNews) reports that MJF earns less than some of the ex-WWE stars that Khan has signed for the company.

It is claimed (via Wrestling Inc) that a disparity in pay structure has been one of the leading factors behind the much-publicised issues.

Fans are questioning whether the current storyline is now a worked shoot, and whether MJF and Khan have smoothed over their previous disagreements. One thing is for certain, though – this is captivating television.

What is the net worth of MJF?

According to Essentially Sports, MJF has a net worth of $1 million as of the end of 2021.

PWTorch’s Wade Keller (as per The Sportster), meanwhile, has claimed that the 26-year-old likely earned a salary of around $40,000-$70,000 in his initial contract with AEW. However, he also added that Tony Khan has given him a raise since.

Keller explained: “Nobody’s moved higher than MJF, among those on starter deals. And by a starter deal, a very broad loose range is like $40,000 to $70,000. Like, you can make a living but, you know, it’s a start deal. And some might not be making $40,000.

“By the way, MJF was given a raise once since he signed with AEW. So he’s making substantially more than the starter contract. Like hundreds of thousands of dollars.

“But it is modest compared to the contracts of more than a half dozen free agent signings AEW has made over the past year. Christian, Mark Henry, Malakai Black, Adam Cole, Bryan Danielson, CM Punk. There’s six right there.”
