Ronda Rousey aims clear message at WWE over releases after ‘cash’ segment

Ronda Rousey has returned from her suspension from WWE with a vengeance, and she’s not holding back from sending a message to the company.

On July 30, the former UFC champion challenged Liv Morgan for the Smackdown women’s title at SummerSlam. However, due to an officiating error, Rousey lost via pinfall despite submitting her opponent. This unsurprisingly enraged the challenger, who lost her composure and arm-barred the referee.

This resulted in the company deciding that she’d have to take a storyline break from appearing at WWE events, as well as incurring a fine. However, she arrived back on the scene during the latest edition of Friday Night SmackDown and didn’t pull any punches.

Rousey crashed the Clash at the Castle contract signing between Morgan and Shayna Baszler to dump a load of money on the table, in order to pay the fine. In all likelihood, this could result in her floating the idea of a triple threat match in the future.

Ronda Rousey sends message to WWE on Instagram

Taking to Instagram, the 35-year-old made some bold comments on how WWE could use the money from her fine.

She said: “Use that cash wisely WWE. Maybe it can help with those ‘budget cuts’. Bring back some asses for me to kick.”

Rousey’s post is seemingly in reference to the mass number of releases that WWE have made recently.

During the Covid-19 pandemic, Vince McMahon cut several big-name stars, with the company citing ‘budget cuts’ as the reason for most of those releases. However, since Triple H has taken over creative, he has made it a priority to bring back some of the performers that WWE had lost.

So far, Karrion Kross, Scarlett, Dexter Lumis, Dakota Kai and Hit Row (Top Dolla, Ashante Adonis & B-Fab) have all made triumphant comebacks. And according to Fightful Select (via WrestlingNews), they’ll be plenty more from where they came from.
