Roy Keane marks St. Patrick’s Day with incredible Instagram throwback

There are great Instagram posts and then there’s this St Patrick’s Day beauty from Roy Keane.

We all know that today is usually one of the biggest celebrations of the year in the UK. Everyone pretends they like Guinness and tells you they’re half-Irish because of some distant relative.

Alas, under the current restrictions, it’s a very different looking holiday this time round.

The luck of the Irish

But even if it isn’t the same experience we’re used to, there are still plenty of reasons to have a good time tonight. Spring is on its way, the football season is heating up and Keane is keeping us all entertained via social media.

Yes, that’s right. Roy Keane, the man who hates everyone apart from Micah Richards, just having a laugh on Instagram like the rest of us.

“Dressed as a leprechaun chasing Lineker for a bag of crisps. Do me a favour. Up The Irish”. The United legend wrote.

This absolutely incredible shot stems from a Walkers advert back in 2000. Gary Lineker, the poster boy for crisps across the country, walked through the streets of Ireland before being chased down by a leprechaun.

That wasn’t just any old leprechaun though, it is in fact Roy Keane – because you know, life wasn’t weird enough after the millennium.

We rarely see the Irishman threaten to drop a smile during his appearances on Sky Sports, so this new-found affinity with Instagram has taken us all a bit by surprise. We couldn’t be happier about it though.
