Spain have uploaded a video of their goalkeeper training sessions to Twitter – and as you would expect, the standard is exceptionally high.
Manchester United‘s David de Gea, Brighton stopper Robert Sanchez and Athletic Bilbao’s Unai Simon were the three ‘keepers named in the squad for the country’s upcoming World Cup qualifiers.
Sanchez, 23, received his maiden call-up after impressing in goal for the Seagulls this season.
The trio were certainly put through their paces on Wednesday.
The clip below shows the trio completing a number of high-intensity training drills.
They begin with a first-touch training drill, before moving onto what appears to be a decidedly more complex version where the ‘keepers only use their gloves.
de Gea is then peppered with shots from less than six yards out. The United stopper’s reactions are on point throughout, especially when he sticks out an arm to prevent the ball flying into the top corner.
Most of the drills in the clip are a test of reflexes and agility, with all three goalkeepers utilising a range of different save techniques in order to keep the ball out of the net.
The final drill sees the ‘keepers sprint round a pole before diving at full stretch to make a save.

New goalkeeping coach looking to make his mark
The drills were designed by Spain’s goalkeeping coach Jose Sambade, who was appointed in the role in February.
He had previously worked at Monaco under manager Robert Moreno, who had coached the Spain national team between March and November 2019.
Former LaLiga goalkeeper Paco Liano, who has worked alongside Sambade in the past, told the Argus: “I know Jose well and you won’t find better.
“I don’t know of anyone in the football world, especially among goalkeepers, that doesn’t speak highly of him.
“Jose is a very well-prepared boy, very affable and knows how to treat people well.
“He is a perfectionist when it comes to looking for a very complete goalkeeper, including with the ball at his feet.”
Spain are in World Cup qualifying action on Thursday evening when they host Greece in Group B.
