That’s the bottom line, ‘cause Stone Cold said so
While Stone Cold’s WWE career may have been halted due to injuries, he has often stayed associated with the promotion and has now given a little insight into who he considers the stars of tomorrow.
Many fans often criticise WWE for focusing too much on nostalgia within their product. So, during a recent interview with Bleacher Report, Austin went in the opposite direction by naming a few female stars who he believes have great potential.
“I haven’t been tuning in a whole lot because I have a whole lot going on in my personal life, but just from watching the Royal Rumble, I think those last two women—Rhea Ripley and Bianca Belair—I think those two are destined for greatness. They still need reps, they still need to learn, but those two have the size, presence, looks, ability to be major, major stars, so we’ll see what the future holds for them.”
Ripley and Belair served as the final two women left standing in this year’s Royal Rumble match. Belair won and booked her place at WrestleMania, but Ripley also earned a lot of praise for her performance.
Now, it’s all eyes on the grandest stage of them all. Belair will be attempting to knock off Sasha Banks whereas Ripley faces a tall order in the form of a showdown against Asuka.
There’s a good chance both will leave as champions after their bouts. If they do, it could be a similar crowning to WM21 when John Cena and Batista both won world titles.
That might seem over the top, but hey, we can dream.
