After setting the Premier League alight at Liverpool, Michael Owen signed for Real Madrid.

And while the Golden Boot winner trained with some fantastic players at Anfield, he was nothing short of mesmerized by the genius of one of the greatest of all time.

In an interview on Rio Ferdinand Presents, the natural-born goal scorer said: “The best player I ever played with was Zinedine Zidane. Elegance, just a ballerina, just beautiful, just incredible. Everything that he did was unbelievable.”

Showcasing his breathtaking ability, the superstar scaled the footballing mountain, winning the World Cup in 1998.

Then, just two years later, he won the European Championship, to add the icing on the cake.

Of course, it goes without saying that throughout his career, he hit the back of the net on many occasions, with some of his finishes standing out from the pack.
