The new MLS season will get underway this weekend and to mark the occasion, we’ve taken a look through some of the best-looking kits that will be donned over in the States this year.
From retro reworks, to stunning simplicity, there have been some sublime releases in the buildup to the new campaign.
With that being said, here are a few of our personal favourites.
La Galaxy ’97 tribute

Paying homage to their iconic ’97 shirt, La Galaxy’s new community kit is a stunning tribute to the retro shirt connoisseurs among you.
Inter Miami ‘La Palma’ shirt

Inter Miami’s ‘La Palma’ drop is a homage to Florida’s Biscayne Bay, and is an all-round classy affair that we can’t get enough of.
We’re also slightly confused by the MASSIVE badge, but we’ll let that slide.
New York City go back to basics

Adidas describe New York City FC’s new home shirt as “a return to the basics” release, that strips away unnecessary extras.
We’re not sure what those extras might be, but we sure are glad they got rid of them.
Los Angeles ‘Heart of Gold’

Los Angeles FC’s ‘Heart of Gold’ shirt is dedicated to those who give back and provide care. The club gifted shirts to essential workers across LA, from teachers to firefighters.
The design itself is a dazzling display of simplicity at its absolute best.
Seattle Sounders Jimi Hendrix tribute

Seattle Sounders used their community shirt as a celebration of musical legend, Jimi Hendrix.
The end product is a suitably psychedelic number that represents the principles of peace, love and giving.
Colorado Rapids ‘Class 5’

This one is all about the subtle details. Six of Colorado’s mountains, Grays Peak, Torreys Peak, Pikes Pike, Mt. Bierstadt and Quandary Peak are represented by topography lines weaved in the shirt’s print.
That combines with a colour-scheme inspired by club’s home shirts back in the 90s. Lovely stuff.
