The Fantasy Premier League (FPL) player prices of Man City and Arsenal stars have been revealed ahead of the new 22/23 season.
For FPL fans, the release of player prices is one of the most anticipated time periods on the footballing calendar.
It allows players to map out their starting squad and work out when they might use the special FPL chips on offer, as well as judge how much money they want to leave spare to make transfers. Will you spend part of your budget on two or three huge stars, or will you opt for a more balanced approach?
Users can make as many transfers as they want before the deadline for Gameweek 1, so there’s plenty of time to decide on your dream teams.
Man City, Arsenal FPL 22/23 player prices revealed
On Friday, the official Fantasy Premier League social media accounts began to unveil some of the player prices ahead of the 2022/23 season.
Reigning Premier League champions, Manchester City, were first on the list, alongside last season’s fifth-placed side, Arsenal. And fans had eyes on the price of one player – Erling Haaland.
The Norwegian finally made his long-anticipated move to the English top-flight this summer, joining Pep Guardiola‘s side in a deal worth an initial fee of £51 million from Borussia Dortmund.
One of the best strikers on the planet, Haaland is expected to make a splash in the Premier League next term. For most FPL users, he will likely be a must-buy.
However, the 21-year-old will come at a high cost. His initial price comes in at £11.5 million. To put that into context, the player with the highest starting price in 2021/22 was Liverpool‘s Mohamed Salah (£12.6 million). Cristiano Ronaldo, meanwhile, came in at £12.5 million.
Haaland is not City’s highest-valued player, however. That accolade belongs to Kevin De Bruyne (£12.0m).
Joao Cancelo (£7.0m) is always a huge points earner for FPL players, whilst Jack Grealish (£7.0m) could also be worth a punt as he looks to add more goals and assists compared to his first season in a City shirt.
For Arsenal, their highest-valued player is Bukayo Saka (£8.0m). Value could also be found in the transfer of Fabio Vieira (£6.0m). The midfielder, signed from Portuguese giants FC Porto, registered 14 assists in Liga Portugal last season.
Eddie Nketiah (£7.0m) could also be an excellent addition to your team, especially if he begins the season as the Gunners’ leading centre forward.
