The Horrendous stats behind Spurs this season

Tottenham Hotspur fans can be forgiven for feeling a bit pessimistic after their start to the new campaign under Nuno Espirito Santo.

The former Wolves boss first came through the doors in North London back in the summer and while they did manage to beat Manchester City en route to winning their first three league games, things have somewhat gone downhill since then. The club has subsequently lost three in a row with the latter being a humiliating 3-1 beating at the hands of local rivals Arsenal last Sunday, with the result dropping Spurs into the bottom half of the table.

There are plenty of factors behind why things have gone south but the constant seems to be, in the eyes of many, the presence of Nuno Espirito Santo. A lot of Wolves supporters noted when he left that while he had accomplished a lot during his stint in the Black Country, his negative style of play and questionable decision making had stifled them on many different occasions.

What’s next for Nuno?

If the Tottenham faithful didn’t want to believe them then, perhaps they’ll consider doing so after seeing these stats from the weekend.

We’re still just six games into the season and there’s an argument to be made that we shouldn’t read too much into what’s happening just yet. Still, with tough fixtures against Aston Villa, West Ham and Manchester United on the horizon, the situation could turn sour pretty quickly if Nuno can’t pull a rabbit out of his hat.
