The Masters 2022 will get underway on Thursday, and we’ve got all the tee times you need ahead of the highly-anticipated first round.
The major breaking news from Augusta National so far this week is that Tiger Woods will make his long-awaited return to professional golf. He hasn’t competed since being involved in a horrific car crash in February of last year. Woods suffered open fractures to the tibia and fibula bones in his right leg in the crash.
There were doubts as to whether he would ever play professional golf again. However, he posted a highly positive update in November. The video showed him performing a golf swing.
After arriving at Augusta National last weekend, Woods played practice holes over several days. He is now ready to tee off on Thursday. The 46-year-old is optimistic about what he can achieve.
He told the official PGA TOUR website: “I do [believe I can win]. I can hit it just fine. I don’t have any qualms about what I can do physically, from a golf standpoint. It’s now, walking is the hard part.”
Plenty of attention will be on the 2021 winner, Hideki Matsuyama. In achieving the historic feat, he became the first Japanese male athlete to win a major golf championship.
World number one, Scottie Scheffler, is looking to continue his incredible start to 2022. He has already won three tournaments. Meanwhile, Jon Rahm, Justin Thomas and Dustin Johnson are also among the favourites to wear the green jacket come Sunday.
Let’s look at the tee times for some of the key groups to watch out for during The Masters – including the return of Tiger Woods.
