UFC fighter scores first KO in five years & immediately challenges McGregor

UFC veteran Jim Miller made history over the weekend in more ways than one – and he followed it up by calling out Conor McGregor and Dustin Poirier.

The 38-year-old Miller has been part of the UFC family for well over a decade and in that time, he’s had a whole lot of wins and a whole lot of losses. The veteran is known for being Mr Reliable and with the lights shining bright in Las Vegas, he scored his first knockout win in half a decade with a sensational performance against Erick Gonzalez.

The victory earned him a place in the record books as he became the sole owner of the “most UFC fights” title at 38, and he’s now just one win behind Donald Cerrone in the running for “most UFC wins”.

Miller, who fought on the UFC 100 and UFC 200 cards, went on to suggest that a goal of his would be to compete at UFC 300 too. That would require him to keep fighting until around early 2024 but based on everything we know about Jim Miller, that doesn’t seem too far-fetched whatsoever.

Will Jim Miller get his money fight?

Some fighters in Miller’s position may be content to just wait and see who the UFC offers up for him to fight, but this guy is different.

During his post-fight interview, the New Jersey native decided to list a series of names he’d be interested in fighting; including three of the best lightweights on the planet.

“Anyone. Really anyone. It does not matter. I’d love to get my opportunity back and have the rubber match with [Charles] Oliveira. I’d love to fight [Dustin] Poirier again and if Conor [McGregor] needs a fight, I’m game for it, too. Every one of them, all at once. Let’s go!”

It may seem unlikely, but it’s always best to expect the unexpected in the UFC.
