Who is favourite to win Euro 2020 Player of the Tournament?

Euro 2020 has been a crazy ride thus far but above all else, there are a few players who have really made their mark this year.

This international showcase has been phenomenal to watch from the first game right up to the upcoming quarter-finals and something tells us the best is yet to come.

Alas, it’s near enough impossible not to mention a few stand out stars that have gone above and beyond – with Betfair ranking the following 20 as the top contenders to claim the Player of the Tournament award.

1) Raheem Sterling – 6/1

Raheem Sterling has been the master of “right place, right time” during Euro 2020 after scoring three of England’s four goals. He got the winner against Croatia, the winner against Czech Republic and scored the opening goal to set the Three Lions well on their way to glory in the battle with the Germans.

2) Romelu Lukaku – 15/2

It’s difficult to have a goalscorer you can rely on in the big moments but Romelu Lukaku has cemented himself as exactly that for Belgium. He started off the tournament like a house on fire with three goals to his name, and the expectation is that he’ll keep that form going deep into the knockouts.

3) Simon Kjaer – 17/2

It’s important to be a leader in this sport and we can’t think of anyone better suited to that title than Simon Kjaer. The Denmark skipper was the first on the scene to help his side react to Christian Eriksen’s collapse and was praised for his quick-thinking.

Performance-wise, he’s also been solid at the back throughout the Euros and the Danes are beginning to look defensively sound at just the right time.

4) Leonardo Spinazzola – 14/1

Leonardo Spinazzola simply does not know how to stop running and he’s manifested that into becoming a demon down the left flank, constantly providing Italy with a premium attacking outlet all game long – especially against Austria.

5) Sergio Busquets – 14/1

It’s integral to have someone in the middle of the park dictating the pace of play and Spain’s Sergio Busquets is the absolute master at doing just that. The Spaniards haven’t always been at the races but every forward thinking move they make goes through Busquets who, at this stage, should be known as their talisman.
