Reece James would make a massive difference for England against Norway, but will the right-back be ready in time?
The quarter-final clash is set to go down on Saturday evening at Miami Stadium in Miami, Florida, USA.
Reece James is a massive doubt for England vs Norway
Reece James is in a race against the clock to make it back in time to represent England against Norway. Currently, medics are working as hard as they can to try and speed up his recovery, which is of paramount importance after a red card given to Jarell Quansah ruled the Bayer Leverkusen star out of playing in the game this weekend.
The Chelsea defender hasn’t trained with his ‘Three Lions’ teammates in the US since he suffered a hamstring injury in his side’s 0-0 draw with Ghana in the group stage of the World Cup. However, he did warm up right before his country played Mexico at the Azteca Stadium in Mexico City, Mexico.
But as of right now, his inclusion in the starting XI against Norway appears unlikely.
Why Declan Rice could miss FIFA World Cup 2026 semi-final
Unfortunately, James isn’t England’s only concern.
Declan Rice is in a very difficult situation ahead of Saturday.
If things go wrong, the Arsenal man could end up missing the next game should England come out on top against Norway.
This is why Rice could miss the World Cup semi-final.
