Wrestling fans have long been desperate to see the company return to the UK to host a major event.

Traditionally, WWE held live Raw and SmackDown events in the United Kingdom on four occasions during the year. These dates would typically be in May and November. There were also live events that took place during the year as well.

However, WWE has not travelled to the UK for Raw or SmackDown since 2019, due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

When was the last major WWE event held in the UK?

Aside from Raw, SmackDown and live events, we have to go back to 2003 for the last time a pay-per-view took place in the United Kingdom.

Newcastle, England, staged the Insurrextion event. It was the last pay-per-view to date in which the United Kingdom played host. Triple H fought Kevin Nash in the main event. There were also matches involving Booker T, Christian and Scott Steiner.

You have to go back 30 years for the last hosting of one of WWE’s major pay-per-views in the UK. The 1992 edition of SummerSlam was held at Wembley Stadium. The British Bulldog defeated Bret Hart for the Intercontinental Championship in an incredible main event.
