WWE Superstars and legends flocked to social media to congratulate Liv Morgan after she won the SmackDown Women’s Championship at Money in the Bank.
Morgan won the Women’s Money in the Bank ladder match earlier in the night, defeating Alexa Bliss, Shotzi, Becky Lynch, Raquel Rodriguez, Asuka and Lacey Evans. The win allowed her a women’s world title opportunity at any time within the following year.
Then, after Ronda Rousey defended her SmackDown Women’s Championship against Natalya – on one leg – Morgan seized her chance. With briefcase in hand, she sprinted down to the ring and cashed in her title opportunity.
It almost went badly wrong after ‘The Baddest Women on the Planet’ locked in the ankle lock, but Morgan reversed into a rollup to secure the biggest victory of her WWE career.
The 28-year-old was a very popular winner, with masses of WWE fans predicting before event that last night was going to be her night.
It is the first title Morgan has won in WWE, making it even more of a landmark moment in her career.
Immediately after her victory over Rousey, her fellow WWE stars – and various legends – took to Twitter to congratulate her.
