WWE Superstars send heartwarming messages to Big E after horror broken neck

The WWE Universe has reacted in shock to the incident that resulted in Big E suffering a broken neck on Friday Night SmackDown.

The hugely popular WWE Superstar was in a tag team match alongside Kofi Kingston alongside the pairing of Sheamus and Ridge Holland.

Holland and Big E found themselves outside the ring at one point in the match. Holland attempted a belly-to-belly suplex on his opponent, but the move went wrong and Big E landed directly on his head.

A warning that the video below shows the incident in full, and will be hard to watch for viewers.

The camera pans to Kingston, clearly deeply concerned for his close friend, and shows him rushing over to the ropes to check that Big E was okay.

The incident evoked memories from last month’s Elimination Chamber premium live event, where Madcap Moss landed on his head during his match against Drew McIntyre. Thankfully, there was no serious damage done on that occasion.

Big E posts update on Twitter

Following the scary landing, Big E confirmed to fans on Twitter that he had suffered a broken neck.

Fortunately, however, the popular wrestler showed that he could move his hands. Fans will be hoping that he can make a full and fast recovery.

He said in a video: “I can’t thank all of you beautiful people enough for all of your concern and your messages. It’s very heartwarming.

“I can move all my digits. That’s nice, that’s always a good thing. Strength, it feels fine.

“But unfortunately, right now, they tell me my neck is broken. So there’s that. But once again, thank you to everybody. I’m going to be alright, don’t worry. Go to sleep, don’t worry about old me.”

WWE Superstars send messages of support to Big E

Although WWE wrestlers entertain us all on a weekly basis, wrestling always carries a risk of injury. In some cases, as with Big E, the injury can be severe.

In the aftermath of the injury, WWE Superstars have sent many messages of support to one of the company’s most popular performers.

Former two-time WWE Champion, The Miz, tweeted: “Thoughts and prayers big man.”

WWE Raw Women’s Champion, Becky Lynch, said: “One of the best humans in the world. I’m hoping you’ve been keeping it a secret that you have wolverine-esque healing powers. Thinking of you. Love you E.”

And WWE SmackDown Women’s Champion, Charlotte Flair, also sent her well-wishes the way of Big E. She tweeted: “You’re in my prayers Big E.”

Bobby Lashley – who has fought Big E for the WWE Championship on numerous occasions in recent months – said: “Get well soon, E. You got this.”

Big E’s New Day teammate, Xavier Woods, provided a positive update on his friend after the injury.

He said: “Went to see E and he’s in good spirits. Hell of a guy and beyond proud to call him my brother.”

Everyone hopes that Big E has a speedy and full recovery from his injury, and fans will be wishing to see him back on their screens as soon as it is safe to do so.
