WATCH: Compilation of Ronaldo’s most towering headers

Cristiano Ronaldo showcased his heading prowess once again in Juventus’s 3-0 victory over Crotone in Serie A.

His second goal was vintage Ronaldo – combining his leap with inch-perfect timing as he powered a header into the bottom corner of the net.

The Portuguese star now has 18 goals in 19 Serie A appearances this season, but not many will have been better than this one.

Following his latest exploits for the Bianconeri, a compilation of the 36-year-old’s greatest headers has been doing the rounds, and it’s a strong portfolio.

Perhaps the most famous header of the lot was delivered in the 2008 Champions League Final. On that occasion, Ronaldo produced a typical towering header to give Manchester United the lead against Chelsea.

In the second clip, AS Roma defender Marco Cassetti is lucky to get out of the way as Ronaldo, barely in the frame when the sequence starts, powers beyond him to head home.

Whilst his goal against PSG towards the end of the compilation is barely visible due to fog, you can clearly see him able to spring above the defender and nod the ball into the net.

Ronaldo’s heading technique

When it comes to Ronaldo and heading, what is most impressive is his knack of getting in the perfect position, either by running beyond or between defenders.

In a number of the clips, you can see how his movement and positioning influences the final result.

Despite being 36 years of age, we could be seeing the Portuguese captain produce moments like these for a while to come.

His brace against Crotone means he has now scored 25 or more goals in his last 14 seasons, dating back to his early years at United.

He also holds the record for most Champions League goals (127) in a career, and has four European goals already to his name this campaign.

Juventus are back in Champions League action against FC Porto next week. They are looking to overturn a 2-1 aggregate defeat from the first leg of their last-16 encounter.
