Balotelli waits eight years to brutally taunt manager who criticised him at Man City

Mario Balotelli scored his second league goal for Turkish Super Lig side Adana Demirspor against Besiktas on Tuesday – and made sure his opposing manager knew all about it.

Balotelli came off the bench in the 67th minute with his side 3-1 down, and made a huge impact.

He scored on 79 minutes to reduce the deficit to 3-2, before setting up former Middlesbrough and Nottingham Forest striker Britt Assombalonga for a 97th minute equaliser.

It was his goal in particular where Balotelli wanted to get his point across to Besiktas boss Sergen Yalcin.

Whilst the Italian was at Manchester City, Yalcin said: “He has no brain, if I were in [City manager, Roberto] Mancini’s shoes I would fire him!”

In celebration of his goal against Besiktas, Balotelli shouted over to Yalcin before pointing at his head twice.

The striker then posted a video of the incident on Instagram, attached with a brain and heart emoji.

He wrote on his story: “We have brain and especially we have balls and heart. Very big heart and we are proud of it.”

Yalcin, however, took a different tone in his post-match press conference – and suggested that Balotelli’s reaction could have been because he didn’t join Besiktas last summer.

He said: “It is the first time that I’ve seen a player doing such a thing to a manager.

“I could not understand why he did that, maybe the reason is that he did not join Besiktas last year. That shows his personality.

Balotelli joined Adama Demirspor on a free transfer this summer after leaving Serie B side Monza.

He has so far scored two league goals and provided two assists in six matches. His new side sit 12th in the Super Lig with six points from their opening six games.
